DEVELOPER ROUTE
Build the part you actually need
A relinker-only build produces the conversion tool. A full setup also needs the host system libraries. Choose the mode before configuring a build directory.
Two build goals
| Goal | Route |
|---|---|
| Inspect or build the conversion tool | Relinker-only configuration |
| Prepare host libraries as well | Full build and its library target |
The build document supports a relinker-only mode without the full graphics and media dependency setup. It is a useful boundary for development; it is not a complete runtime package.
Documented build markers
cmake -S . -B build-relinker -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DANYPS5_RELINKER_ONLY=ON
cmake --build build-relinker --parallelcmake --build build --target libs --parallelThese are selected commands, not a complete platform installation script. Read the upstream build instructions for the toolchain, submodules, dependencies and configuration step that apply to your host.
Windows toolchains are version-specific
The reviewed main-branch build document specifies MinGW-w64 GCC 15.2.0 from WinLibs. Recheck this requirement before compiling a newer revision. A different installed compiler is not evidence that the documented toolchain was used.
Keep the compiler version and CMake configure output in your test notes. If configuration fails, resolve that failure before interpreting a later missing binary.
Make a build report reproducible
- Record the source commit and local changes.
- Use separate directories for relinker-only and full builds.
- Keep the configure command, compiler versions and first error.
- After changing library code, rebuild the library target you intend to test.
- Identify the actual output you launched, rather than assuming a rebuild changed every file.
We have not compiled AnyPS5 as part of building this website. These notes explain the upstream workflow and how to record your own result.
Common questions
Does relinker-only include the system libraries?
No. It builds the conversion tool; preparing the runtime is a separate task.
